Oxford German Classic Prize
In my former role as coordinator of the German Oxford Classic Prize, I had the pleasure of interviewing three Oxford German finalists.
In this first episode of the GCP Podcast on Annette von Droste-Hülshoff’s ‘Die Judenbuche’, recent German undergraduates Lucy Kelly, George Philipps, Janae Byrne, and I were discussing the competition text in order to provide candidates with a first introduction to this fascinating classic of German literature. We were debating questions such as: Is ‘Die Judenbuche’ a whodunnit? How does the narration work? And why are there so many red herrings?
It was a huge pleasure to work with Lucy, George, and Janae and I very much enjoyed their insightful perspectives. External videographer Ben Johnston immensely facilitated the shooting. Contact him at: https://www.benjohnstonfilm.com
